I have been happily a slave to AGAIN these days. This week I had the pleasure of shooting the Fall/ Winter collection "Rise Of The Speak Easy." Shooting look books is one of my favorite things to do 1. Because you know all your samples are done, 2. You get to see the collection come to life, 3. You get to create the feeling of the collection through the models, make-up, and photographs. The lifestyle is portrayed the way you see it. We had so much fun shooting this one as everything came out so great, but it was such a collaborative between the models (Tiernan/ Cassandra), Photography (Ben Cope), Styling (Andy Pompie/ Laura Casey), and make-up (Colby Smith).

Immm Back! 

I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to take the Fall/ winter collection from AGAIN to Paris for the Who's Next trade show, and also to be in weather where I could pull my Rick out. Paris is such a magical city. There are no words for the history, architecture and pure style it withholds. Paris makes me want to turn down that dark ally to find that amazing restaurant, or old vintage store, take a scooter when you know there is 80% chance of death, just full of discovery. I loved the music, the bread, the vintage, and my favorite was that most everyone wore black, layered with black with more black. Some more photos of the trip are here

I recently watched Apocalypse Now a twisted war movie about Vietnam, so I thought I would pay my respects by wearing this shirt I found thrifting in Colorado :) This skirt is one of the pieces from AGAIN that I try to wear as much as possible, it goes with pretty much anything from casual to well, non casual. Its so soft and more importantly just comfortable. It comes in gold and silver, so everyone doesn't look at me that weird when I wear it twice, three times in a row. I have to say this is the first year that I feel completely satisfied with how it was brought in. Some friends and I and I decided to partake in a little staycation at the ACE hotel in Palm springs. Its always hard to get EVERYONE you love in the same room, but I am always grateful to be surrounded by a handful.We parked the cars, enjoyed the 85 degree weather surrounded by tiny bikinis danced, ate, and just enjoyed each others company. Looks like its going to be a good year.

Happy Holidays! <--- I hate saying this I'm such a Grinch. These are just a couple pics of my trip home to Colorado. I think I did just about every snow action sport known to man except ice fishing, bruised every where and sore in places I didn't know I had. I loved spending time with the family, watching my brothers grow is so alien like. I am so lucky to be going home to a place like Colorado for the Holidays, and even luckier to be coming home to California. Thrifting in Colorado is the best I always find real gems there, I just wish I didn't have to travel back with everything as I am always getting on the plane with some Indian artifact and wearing 4 coats for packing purposes.

I have been quite the Grinch when it comes to the Holidays this year. Working with clothing, things always close but the demand for product still stands. The last thing you want to hear while rushing around is the little drummer boy. A friend had a beautiful Holiday party and after a few times around the ice rink and too many hot chocolates to count, I was reminded that the holidays are a time to get dressed up, and spend time with the ones you love.

Family Vacation Round 1

Like I said in a previous post I had the amazing opportunity to take a trip to Bali Indonesia a couple weeks back. Two of my best friends Eric and Christine were able to join with the same agenda to explore, do nothing, eat, read and totally relax on the total opposite side of the world. Bali takes extremely long to get to so after my 11 hour flight to Japan, my 6 hour flight to Singapore, 14 hour layover and to finish the last leg with a 2 hour flight to Bali, simultaneously able to finish my Patti Smith book and avoid eating airplane food! I have so many pics so I am going to break it into a couple posts, mostly by days. Enjoy!

The Monkey Forest, one of the craziest places! There aren't really guards, and they will do anything for a banna!

The rice fields were some the most beautiful scenery I cant even begin to describe.

We took a day to explore all around this dress was perfect I picked it up at Shareens Vintage, and the bag from a stand in St. Tropez. Bali is such a sacred place, most of the ritual is practiced still through out the island, you don't really need much, only simple things mattered.More to come!

Last night we got the opportunity to showcase the AGAIN Spring 12 collection in the Directives West Fashion show. We were able to view a few of the up and coming LA based designers, and preview some of the predicted Doneger Group trend forecasts.  Colby was the star of most nights. He is great to have around because he takes the pressure from everyone when it comes to talking, hes got it covered. He knows how to light up a room just by being himself. Collin from Jeffery Campbell and Colby got us all to go to a gay bar and I must say a new side came out of so many between pole dancing, taxidermy make outs and dance moves that were only for there. 

I am wearing a lace overcoat also from Shareens for the festivities.

A little photo diary of our latest trip to New York. I was so lucky to have so many random inspiring fun people around to make the trip memorable. Between late nights, early mornings, fashion week, gay clubs, concerts, celebrity run ins, purse snatching, street fights, tagging, item loosing, and of course the walking, I have to say I know we left our stamp. There is nothing like bonding with friends when you are out of your comport zone. I got a new pair of Docs that I have been watching for so long, after a few hours of walking I finally stopped in and got um! They only added to the NY kit which consisted of my favorite sheer floral dress from shareens, a must on this trip, my UNIF tees, leather jackets and the AGAIN pieces that I cant quite show!

I was so lucky to be able to see the J Mendel show while in New York. I was more then inspired, and beyond impressed by how edgy and wearable his designs were. He took color and made it cool, took sequinand made it patterned and your everyday jacket not so everyday.  I just got back to L.A. from one of the most chic trips I have been on yet. It was full of adventure, sight seeing, much needed relaxation, discovery, laughter, and overall memories. Kayaking, jet skiing, motor scooters, banana boats, boat jumping, I practically ran an activity marathon. We started in Paris, got nice in Nice, ate Pesto in Portofino, got bossy in Monte Carlo, parted the waters in Corsica, and finally sprayed enough champagne to feed a small village in St. Tropez. I am so grateful for the opportunity to discover more about the world, myself, and friends, it is a knowledge no one can take from you. Traveling is like a drug, you only want to see and experience more. Ima itchin!

6 Hours In Paris

 I couldn't be more excited to talk about the six hours I spent in Paris to see the Elie Saab show for Paris fashion week. It was full of sequence, long dresses and beautiful silhouettes. I have followed his work since I was 12, and couldn't be more grateful for the opportunity to see it live. I wore a long black silk chiffon dress from Shareens Vintage, Aliah Shoes, and my Chanel globe ring.

Some  pics taken a couple weeks ago. Times have been crazy around here! I am  missing my pup, and watching all the flowers die in my room doesn't help  :( Sometimes I think she is going to come back. I am going to bury all  her stuff this week like the Egyptians do so she has it all up there. In  times like these it is good to find an outlet, and mine has been  drowning myself in work. I am so excited to tell you we have moved  offices into downtown. Creative space is so important and we found ours!  I look forward to sharing pics later!

I recently moved to Venice, and I am loving it. I love the walk streets, everything about them. Unfortunately I lost my best friend last week. I wanted to take this time to write her a little note on here knowing that dogs read blogs in heaven too.

Hey Tamale, I am so sorry that we can’t be together for now. I want to say thank you for everything that you have brought into my life. You gave me structure, personality, love and so much more words cant describe. No matter what was going on in my crazy life I always felt relief to see your wagging tail and happy ears, knowing that you were always on my side. Thank you for being so convenient and understanding, riding in the car with me for hours everyday making sure all my dresses got made, following me from vendor to vendor, waiting in the car while I got my coffee, fitting in my bag at any restaurant. Thank you for making me stop and smell the roses, for making me realize the important things in life. Thank you for giving me an excuse to go home, while teaching me responsibility and true companionship. You made me a better person. You were always a good judge of character, and knew how to be the star of any room. I would look at you from afar sometimes and wounder how you were real. You inspired and touched so many lives. I know I always promised you that when we got rich you could have your own little castle and be the boss of all the other dogs, but I’m sure you already have that up there. It’s so strange to me that no matter how many tears are shed you wont be back. You are irreplaceable. I loved you more then most people, you had a bond with so many, a bond that some will never understand, nor do they have to. You were adored by so many not only because you are the cutest thing in the world but because of your quirky little attitude. I could go on and on and continue to tell you that I have never been so sad, or felt this feeling of a true loss, but I know you feel the same. Keep being yourself, mini me. Life will not be the same without you, you are forever in our memories. Much love. We miss you.

I   can’t say thank you  enough to all of our friends and family that have   been there to help  us through this sudden tragedy. I am working on keeping sewing as one of my hobbies. I got this shirt because of the black and white polkadots of course, but I cut the sleeves off and made the dramatic shoulder with them. These boots are some of my new prized possetions, they make any outfit just that much better. If you are having a bad hair day, wear the boots and the attention will immediately go to your feet :)

So everyone that knows me knows that I have been a total stress case for the past couple of weeks. Every ounce of my stress has had a huge reward. I have put my heart and soul into this collection, and I am so grateful for all the support and opportunities, it is truly a dream. We were able to shoot our AGAIN Holiday '11 lookbook over the weekend. We worked with an amazing photographer Sean Armenta, and had a great team behind us. I cant wait to share the end result! I am not usually a fan of showing my mid goods, but this top is one of my new favs. The Poncho is from my line, and I wear this everywhere. It is the perfect warm weather layering piece. There is something so thrilling about standing in the middle of the road, makes me feel like I am taking risks, you have to take risks and step out of your comfort zone to succeed.

I missed out on friday, but I loved Damian Marley w/ Nas, Mumford &Sons, Arcade Fire, Empire of the Sun (amaz costumes), Duran Duran, Kanye, and I think I broke my neck head banging so hard at the Presets!

I haven't posted what I have been wearing that much because I have been working on being behind the camera more (where I belong). when you are behind the camera you have to wear boots, ripped Levis denim jacket, tank, jeans (wallet in pocket of course) and a backwards hat with the Hawaii logo on the back or it just doesn't work you know?
